The CMU-ARK German-English Translation System
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes the German-English translation system developed by the ARK research group at Carnegie Mellon University for the Sixth Workshop on Machine Translation (WMT11). We present the results of several modeling and training improvements to our core hierarchical phrase-based translation system, including: feature engineering to improve modeling of the derivation structure of translations; better handing of OOVs; and using development set translations into other languages to create additional pseudoreferences for training.

CMU Multi - Engine Machine Translation for WMT 2010 Kenneth
This paper describes our submission, cmu-heafield-combo, to the WMT 2010 machine translation system combination task. Using constrained resources, we participated in all nine language pairs, namely translating English to and from Czech, French, German, and Spanish as well as combining English translations from multiple languages. Combination proceeds by aligning all pairs of system outputs then...

متن کاملCombining Semantic and Syntactic Generalization in Example-Based Machine Translation
In this paper, we report our experiments in combining two EBMT systems that rely on generalized templates, Marclator and CMU-EBMT, on an English–German translation task. Our goal was to see whether a statistically significant improvement could be achieved over the individual performances of these two systems. We observed that this was not the case. However, our system consistently outperformed ...
متن کاملThe CMU Machine Translation Systems at WMT 2014
We describe the CMU systems submitted to the 2014 WMT shared translation task. We participated in two language pairs, German–English and Hindi–English. Our innovations include: a label coarsening scheme for syntactic tree-to-tree translation, a host of new discriminative features, several modules to create “synthetic translation options” that can generalize beyond what is directly observed in t...

The development of ap integrated knowledge-based machine-aided translation system called PANGLOSS in collaboration with the Center for Machine 'Ikanslation (CMT) at CMU and the Computing Research Laboratory (CRL) at New Mexico State University. The IS1 part of the collaboration is focused initially on providing the system's output capabilities, primarily in English and then in other languages, ...
